Hallo again! Victoria is back with another update. :)
This is a requested story and I hope it lived up to your expectations my dear Camille. :) Hahaha. I’m sorry some other requests are taking too long.
Anyway, I am working a new fic which does not feature Neil as the leading man..
Who’s gonna be the leading man you ask? Wait to find out then ;)
Teehee enjoy loves! xx
Part 1 here :)
Much love,
Victoria ♥
Usually, one would get pissed at the end of their wits whenever they learn that their flight got delayed for hours.
But this case was an exception.
I hardly kept track of the time and the mugs of coffee I had consumed as Neil and I learned more about each other with every minute that passed.
I talked about my business, and how I was grateful that it was a booming one. To which he joked that he was a cupcake monster and would love to try my creations one of these days. Another topic we discussed was our love for Football, and his dream of opening a Football clinic of his own that caters to kids in the Philippines in the near future.
“Flight J101 and J102 passengers, please proceed to your boarding gates immediately as we are now ready for take off.”
“Goodness! How long have we been talking?” I asked Neil as I stared at my watch.
“About five hours or so.” He cackled. “But I guess..we must go now to our gates. But hey, will you give me your number?” He asked me as he pouted like a kid asking for candy.
But of course, I couldn’t resist him. I wrote down my contact details on a piece of tissue and handed it over to him as he took it with a smile that extends from ear to ear.
“I guess I’ll see you then? Good luck.” I asked before entering the designated gate, trying to conceal sadness from my voice.
“Yup! Hey, don’t worry, I’ll find you soon.” He replied, as if sensing the underlying tone.
We hugged each other for quite a while, it’s so funny how I already miss the guy even though we’ve known each other only for a couple of hours.
—
I spent two weeks in Paris, overseeing the transactions of my business for a while. Everytime my phone would ring I hoped it would be Neil on the other line.
But that much awaited phone call never came.
I kept creating scenarios in my head that would answer the question my heart was shouting, “Why didn’t he call?”
The most convincing reply I created was that I was nothing but a good conversation, and that what I felt for him was completely different from what he felt for me.
As much as it bothered me, I tried to move on with my life and go about my daily activities.
I reached Manila and went straight to my shop and was greeted by frantic workers going around the place.
“What is all the commotion about?” I asked my secretary, the one who handles everything from accounts to orders.
“Glad to have you back boss. There was a huge order placed this morning for 100 box of cupcakes and they need it by this afternoon.”
“100 boxes?! Wow, no one’s ever placed an order that big. I better thank them in person.”
—
I pulled up to this Football field along with the orders of 100 box of cupcakes and was surprised to see little kids running around on the pitch.
When they saw the boxes of cupcakes, most of them cheered and got excited to see treats which melted my heart.
The whole idea of a football clinic for kids made me think about Neil again, and how he told me that he wanted to put up one for himself.
And as if taken out from my imagination, I saw him walking towards me.
I’ve only seen him for the second time but my heart had already grown accustomed to it jumping up and down whenever he would smile like that.
“I told you I would find you.” He smirked triumphantly, as if winning a football game.
“You were the one who ordered a hundred boxes?” I chuckled as I saw the kids wolfing on the cupcakes.
“Welcome to the grand opening of my football clinic for kids.” He winked. “Look, I’m sorry I didn’t call you. Truth is, if you’re going to believe me, I lost that damned piece of tissue paper you wrote your number on. And it took me days, nay, weeks to find you. I remembered your business and I knew this was the only way to contact you. And finally, here you are. I’m glad you came. I wanted you to be the first one to see my football clinic.”
And just like that, he began to move closer, and closer, until I couldn’t breathe anymore as the space between us enclosed.
“I’m glad our flights got delayed that day, because had it been different, I wouldn’t be able to get to know how amazing you are.”
The next scene that took place made the little kids say “eww! The grown-ups are kissing!”
We both laughed, he took my hand and led me towards the pitch.
—
“Aww mom! I always love hearing about your story on how you met dad!” My little girl said, 16 years after that beautiful coincidence and Neil and I are still in a loving relationship.
“What are we talking about?” Neil went inside the room as he gave me and our daughter a kiss.
“Just your love story with mommy, dad!” She exclaimed.
“Ahh yes, what a beautiful story right love?” He smiled at me, and to this date that smile still gives me a serious case of butterflies.
“Yes, it is, okay darling, get ready it’s time for you to go to school.” I kissed her on the forehead as we stood up.
“Hey,” Neil took my hand allowing our daughter to exit the room first, “I love you.”
“I love you too Neil, always.” I hugged him as I thanked God I found this man during that momentous day in the airport.
